B4.run is built by Cacheplane. This page explains what the B4.run website and the b4 CLI record, what happens when you give us your email, who processes that data on our behalf, and how to opt out or ask us to delete it.
What the website recordsCopy link to section: What the website records
When you browse b4.run we record anonymous signals about how the site is used: pageviews, clicks on calls to action, use of copy buttons, when search is opened, and how long a page stays visible. These signals are tied to a random identifier stored in your browser, not to your name or email. There are no accounts on this site.
The site honours your browser's Do Not Track setting and records nothing when it is on. It also records Core Web Vitals, which are page loading and responsiveness measurements.
We use these signals to see which pages help and which don't, so we can improve the docs.
What the b4 CLI reportsCopy link to section: What the b4 CLI reports
The development-time commands dev, build, add, check, typegen, verify, and eval send a small anonymous event when they finish: the command name, the CLI version, the Node major version, your operating system, whether the command succeeded, failed, or was cancelled, a coarse duration bucket, and, on failure, an error class such as an error code. b4 dev also sends one activation event when the first AG-UI run finishes in a session, with only the CLI version and the route kind. The events are tied to a random id stored in ~/.b4/usage-id, not to your name or email. They never include your code, file names, paths, prompts, model names, error messages, or environment values. The first time a command reports, it prints a short notice. Nothing is reported in CI.
To opt out, set either of these environment variables:
B4_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=1
DO_NOT_TRACK=1Nothing is reported by create-b4-app or by an app you build and run with B4.run.
If you give us your emailCopy link to section: If you give us your email
If you subscribe, we will use your address to send occasional product updates and, sometimes, a personal note from Brian.
We store the address you give us, the optional message you write, the version of the disclosure you saw, timestamps, and the anonymous analytics identifier when your browser has one. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. If your address bounces or you mark a message as spam, our email provider reports it to us and we stop emailing you automatically. Your email address is never sent to PostHog.
To have your data deleted, email brian@b4.run. We remove the address and message and keep only a keyed fingerprint of the address, so that it is never emailed again.
